I am looking to be able to record content from my XBox without having to use my computer. I also want to maintain my Xbox's HDMI connection. Currently my XBox connects directly to the TV via HDMI.
Is there a Gefen box that I can insert between the Xbox and TV to record video and audio? I believe I found "GefenTV High-Def Personal Video Recorder" but it's unclear as to whether this would work or not.
Is there any lag to the TV? Is there any audio sync issues?
We have the the GTV-HD-PVR which you can use with your XBOX. You will need to use component instead of HDMI from you XBOX to record. The reason why you cannot use the HDMI from the XBOX to record the video and audio is due to the HDCP encryption signal on the HDMI. So you will need to use the Component cables from your XBOX and from the PVR you can connect HDMI to your TV.
